There is no light on the accident of the Malaysian MH 017. The flight recorders are in England and are being evaluated. What can come out of it?
Possibly more than you want to assume. Especially the voice recorder should be interesting when looking at the image of a cockpit fragment.
As an aviation expert, I have taken the pictures of the wreckage circulating on the Internet.
First of all, I was amazed at how few photos of the wreckage can be found with Google.
All are in low resolution, except for one: the fragment of the cockpit below the window on the captain’s side.
However, this picture is shocking. In Washington, voices are now heard talking about a “possibly tragic error/accident” regarding MH 017. Given this picture, I am not surprised.

This is necessary, because this is the only way to understand what I describe here. I’m not talking about speculation, but about clear facts:
The cockpit shows traces of shelling. You can see entry and exit holes.
The edge of a part of the holes is after! inside! bent.
These are the smaller holes, round and clean, about caliber 30 millimeters.
The edge of the other, the larger and somewhat frayed exit holes is after! outside! bent.
In addition, it can be seen that at these outlet holes, the outer layer of the double aluminum is partially shredded away or bent away – outwards!
Furthermore, smaller cuts can be seen, all bent outwards, which indicate that splinters have penetrated the outer skin from the inside of the cockpit.
The open rivets are bent outwards.
When viewing the available pictures, one thing stands out:
All wreckage parts of the sections behind the cockpit are largely intact, except that they are fragments of a whole. Only the cockpit part is destroyed.
One thing can already be concluded from this:
This aircraft was not hit by a rocket in the middle.
The destruction is limited to the cockpit area. Now you have to know that this part is made of particularly reinforced material.
After all, the bow of the aircraft must also be able to survive the impact of a large bird at high speed reasonably harmlessly.
You can see in the photo that significantly stronger aluminum has been installed in this area than on the rest of the outer skin. Remember the crash of the Pan Am over Lockerbie.
The only largely undamaged part was a large cockpit segment.
There was no doubt that an explosion within the aircraft took place here.

So what could have happened? Russia has published radar recordings showing at least one Ukrainian SU 25 in the immediate vicinity of the MH 017.
This corresponds to the statement of the lost Spanish controller, which saw two Ukrainian fighter planes in the immediate vicinity of the MH 017.
Let’s look at the armament of the SU 25: It is equipped with a two-way 30 mm cannon, type GSch-302 /AO-17A, combat set: 250 shots of armored fire or Splinter-explosive bullets, which are fastened in a limb decay belt in a defined order.
The cockpit of the MH 017 has been fired at from two sides: entry and exit holes on the same side.
Bullet holes on the outer skin
Now imagine what happens when a sequence of armored fire and splinter blasting bullets hits the cockpit, which are after all designed to destroy a tank. The armored fire bullets will partially resign from the other side slightly deformed across the cockpit.
After all, their penetration is designed for solid armor.
However, the splinter-explosive bullets will explode in the cockpit itself, so they are designed.
With the rapid fire sequence of the GSch-302 cannon, there is therefore a rapid sequence of explosions within the cockpit area in a very short time, each of which is sufficient to destroy a tank.
Which “error” was really committed – and by whom?

Because the interior of a commercial aircraft is an airtightly closed room, these explosions will greatly increase the pressure inside the aircraft in fractions of a second.
The plane is not equipped for this. It will burst like a balloon.
This explanation gives a coherent picture. The largely intact fragments of the rear sections are broken in the places that are most likely to break apart due to the design in extreme overpressure.
The image of the widely scattered debris field and the brutally damaged cockpit segment match.
Furthermore, a wing segment shows traces of a grazing shot, which leads directly to the cockpit in extension.
Interestingly, I had to realize that both the high-resolution photo of the cockpit segment and the one from the grazing shot on the wing have now been removed from Google images.
You can hardly find any pictures of the wreckage parts at all, except smoking debris.
If you follow the voices from Washington, which speak of a “possibly tragic error/accident”, all that remains is the question of which “error” could have been committed here.
I am not going into the field of speculation now, but I would like to consider the following:
The MH 017 is confusing in its paintwork with that of the Russian president. Both wear the colors of the Russian tricolor.
The plane with Putin on board was at the same time near the MH 017, if you look at “proximity” with flying eyes: about 200 to 300 kilometers.
In addition, we take Mrs. Tymoshenko’s statement that she would prefer to shoot Putin with a Kalashnikov.
But that’s pure speculation. The shelling of the cockpit of the MH 017 is not.
Addendum on 01. August 2014:
It is repeatedly argued that the SU 25 has a service summit height of 7,000 meters and thus cannot have shot down the MH 017.
If you want to find out more on Wikipedia, you will be confirmed.
But if you take the trouble to expand your knowledge on specialist pages, you will receive a completely different service summit height: 14,600 meters.

It should be said: Until the beginning of July 2014, Wikipedia, both in German and English, marked the service summit height of the SU 25 with “approx. 10,000 meters” indicated.
Now there are only 7,000 meters left in the same places. In the Wikipedia Discussion Forum, a bitter discussion about the right level of service has erupted.
In the manual “Airplanes of the World” by W. Green from 1984, p. 208, the service summit height of the SU 25 is given as 10,670 meters.
This manual is a standard work and essentially refers to the data of the “Janes”
manuals, which are also NATO reference. Since 1984, the performance of the SU 25 has been improved.
